LARGE ASH TREE REMOVAL - MAIDENHEAD

We were contacted by the homeowner who was struggling to find a contractor willing to undertake the removal of a very large ash tree. Unfortunately the tree was in a severe state of decline from ash dieback and also had large fungal brackets at the base. The Ash tree was located in a small courtyard at the back of the property and the only way to access it was by going through the client’s home, which is a grade II listed building.

Following a meeting with a crane hire company the plan we came up with was to use a 100 tonne crane and to lift sections over the house to an area at the front of the property.

The tree was protected by a tree preservation order, however permissions to remove the tree were obtained as it was no longer safe.

On the day of the removal it was an early start, the crane was set up in position and the removal began. The tree was systematically rigged, cut and lifted onto the drop zone which was protected using our ground protection mats. The sections were then processed and loaded on vehicles to be removed. The largest section we lifted was 3 tonnes.

The entire tree was dismantled and removed in a day with just a little clearing up the following day.
